Oil Paintings need special care. They are precious to the owner and may have been purchased intending to last a lifetime.
Ensure that the canvas is not pressed against any rough / sharp objects, however small they may be. This could bruise the finish of the painting and eventually spoil it. Do not hang or place the oil painting in direct sunlight as the strong sun will make the color to fade on your precious painting. Hang the painting away from sun and dust.
Dusting the surface of the oil painting is necessary. Over a period of time dust may for a thick layer over the Impressionist Paintings resulting in the paint to crack and peel away.
Spraying any liquids such as commercially available cleaners should be strictly avoided.
Do your dusting with soft and dry cloth.
